What is an Inbound Lead Form?
An inbound lead form is a form you can embed on your website or funnel that, once submitted, sends a pre-filled text message from the lead to your Project Blue line. Because the first message comes from the contact (an inbound text), this counts as a lead opt-in, meaning you're already engaged in a two-way conversation with that contact from the very first message.
Why use it: Since the contact texts you first, you don't have to worry about "cold" outbound messaging to a brand-new lead. You're replying to an inbound message, which keeps your line in good standing and skips the extra step of sending a first outreach text after the lead comes in.
Part 1: Creating the Inbound Lead Form
Log in to app.tryprojectblue.com.
Go to Settings.
Go to Inbound Lead Form.
Click to create a new lead form.
Choose the form type:
One-step form — all fields shown at once.
Two-step form — fields split across two steps.
Customizing the Form
Once you've selected a form type, you can customize:
Title and form name
Pre-filled message — the text message that gets pre-populated when the lead's messaging app opens after they submit the form
Bottom section/footer of the form
Line Setup (Required)
You must select which Project Blue line the lead's message will be sent to. This determines which number receives the inbound text once the form is submitted.
Form Fields
The form comes with basic default fields, and you can also add any custom fields you've already set up in GoHighLevel.
Saving and Previewing
Once your fields and line are set up, save the form and use the preview option to see how it will look and behave for a lead.
Embedding the Form
The form can be embedded directly on your website or funnel using the provided embed code.
Part 2: Automating a Reply in GoHighLevel
Once the form is live, you can set up an automation in GHL to respond as soon as a lead submits it and sends their first inbound message.
In GHL, go to Automations > Apps.
Scroll down to find the Project Blue trigger.
Configure the trigger:
Direction: Inbound
Message contains: the exact pre-filled message text configured on your lead form (this is how the automation identifies that the message came from the lead form specifically)
Save the trigger.
Add an action, such as:
Send a Message — to reply automatically, or
Any other action you'd like to trigger immediately after receiving this type of message.
